Projects
We have a number of projects happening in the area, through which we are working with people from the local faith communities.
Please feel free to contact us if you or your group are interested in any of the projects KFF are working on, or if you have suggestions for projects we could work on in the future.
Clerics Tea
A regular meeting of local faith leaders over tea, where local and global issues are discussed and a prominent speaker is invited to share their thoughts.
Faith Centre Visits
Kirklees Faiths Forum provides visits to places of worship across Kirklees for adults, including community groups, parents, and teachers, giving people the opportunity to experience a place of worship first hand, and learn about its spiritual significance and meaning.
Focus on Faith
A series of events, lectures and seminars to give people of faith a voice in today's big debates, to encourage dialogue between communities and develop understanding.
Veiled Prejudice
We deliver interactive awareness raising and myth busting sessions around topics such as the veil in Islam, giving people a chance to learn about and ask questions about important topics in our communities.
Treasures Revealed in Kirklees
Ever wondered what goes on inside a Mosque or a Church? Wanted to visit a Sikh Gurdwara, Hindu Temple or Buddhist Centre but never had the opportunity? Maybe you’re curious about people’s different beliefs, how they worship, or how faith affects your local community? If so, then here's your chance to find out.
Book club
If you love reading but find it hard to make time, or get to the end of a good book and find yourself with no one to discuss it with, come to our book club!
National Interfaith Week in Kirklees
A National Interfaith Week takes place across England and Wales every November to celebrate and strengthen good interfaith relationships.
Friendship Through Faith
We are working with two local groups, a Muslim women's group from Batley and a Bible Studies group from Dewsbury to bring them together through an informal ‘cultural awareness’ workshop, visits to each other’s places of worship, and discussion forums.
STEPS: Standing Together to Encourage the Participation of Sisters
STEPS project is a tool to give women the opportunity to build their skills and become active participants in both their communities and wider society through training and workshops, practical learning and discussion forums. Click here to download the STEPS project leaflet.
