Faith Centre Visits

Kirklees Faiths Forum provides visits to places of worship across Kirklees for adults, including community groups, parents, and teachers, giving people the opportunity to experience a place of worship first hand, and learn about its spiritual significance and meaning.

In order to immerse participants in an authentic exploration of faith, Kirklees Faiths Forum provides faith awareness training at designated faith centres.

Kirklees Faiths Forum has worked with volunteers at various places of worship across Kirklees to develop interactive learning packages, in which participants work together on a range of fun and informal learning activities to develop a deeper understanding of the place of worship and the faith it houses.

As well as facilitation from KFF staff, participants work together on activities and have the chance to get to know a volunteer from the faith centre who speaks about his/her faith and what it means to them.  Participants are welcome to ask questions freely and discussion is encouraged and welcomed.

For example, Islamic Awareness training is delivered in a local mosque, giving participants a deeper understanding not only of Islam, but what it’s like to be a Muslim.  Depending on the time of day, participants may also have the opportunity to watch Muslims in prayer and hear recitation of the Quran.  Similar opportunities are available at all our faith centres.

Faith centres include Christian, Sikh, Hindu, Buddhist and Muslim places of worship, in various locations in North and South Kirklees.

Visits are available for community groups, professionals, parents, teachers and other groups.  Please contact us for further information and booking.  For school visits, please visit Interfaith Kirklees (Schools)
