A regular meeting of local faith leaders over tea, where local and global issues are discussed and a prominent speaker is invited to share their thoughts.
The first meetings took place in 2010, at which faith leaders from the Muslim and Christian faiths were joined by Molana Ilyas Dalal, hospital chaplain, and Dr John Azuma from the London School of theology who spoke on Sticking points in Muslim-Christian dialogue.
At January 2011's well attended event, Molana Shahid Raza Naeemi OBE, Chair of the Mosques and Imams National Advisory Board (MINAB) spoke on Christian/Muslim relations in Britain - Paving the way forward.
In April 2011 we welcomed the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu, to speak at Clerics Tea. [read more]
June 2011's event welcomed Shaykh Ibrahim Mogra, international Muslim scholar at the forefront of interfaith work in the UK and abroad. [read more]
It is hoped that many bridges will be built between faith communities in North Kirklees through this valuable interfaith exchange.
